PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION
- Classes are offered before or after school. Parents MUST provide transportation. Afternoon classes are from 3:30pm to 4:45pm unless otherwise noted. Morning classes are from 7:50am to 8:50am. Spanish class will be dismissed early at 4:30pm.
- Registration ENDS for all classes Friday, January 24, 2020.
- Most classes must be half filled by the end of registration to offer the class.
- Scholarships are available to sponsor students who may not be financially able to participate in these programs. Please contact Mrs. Eimiller before January 15th, 2020.
- PLEASE NOTE: Instructors have the right to expel any student from a program due to behavioral misconduct. No refund will be given.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Lauri Bruno is the owner of Kids Nutrition Kitchen and a certified Healthy Hands Cooking Instructor. At a very young age, she was introduced to the kitchen and the abundance of vegetables that were grown in the well-tended gardens of her grandparents, aunts, and uncles. She would eat kohlrabi like an apple, trim the ends of green beans that were destined to become a tasty side dish, and dress a salad whose main characters were the colorful, carefully picked bounty of the garden. As the owner of Kids Nutrition Kitchen, she has the opportunity to connect with the children in her community and teach them the basics of cooking using these types of simple, healthy ingredients. Her classes provide a fun, structured environment where children can explore a variety of fruits and vegetables and use their hands-on skills to transform them into tasty creations. Classes will inspire young chefs to make healthy choices and gain confidence in the kitchen.
ART: WINTER WONDERLAND (Grades 2-5) : 8 WEEKS

Snowmen, polar bears and more! Using a variety of art mediums including paint and pastels, students will create a different colorful project every week. Join us and take the chill out of winter by celebrating this magical season.

About the instructor: Colleen earned her B.S. in Art Education from Indiana University of PA. She teaches art to all ages from age 3 to 93. In addition to substitute teaching in the public schools K-12, she instructs in a variety of settings such as after school programs, scout workshops, mommy and me classes, ladies night out classes, adult day care and nursing homes. Her pastel paintings which she exhibits locally have won several awards and she enjoys working with mixed media and collage. She likes to convey the expression that "art is from the heart" and loves to share her knowledge and love of art with her students. She is a member of CAN ( Cranberry Artists Network.)
FITNESS FUN TIME (Grades K-2) : 6 WEEKS

Come down to the gym after school for some fitness fun time. We will play a variety of tag games, small sided games and even roll out the Butterball net to keep our bodies moving and fit. You will leave huffy puffy, red in the head and sweaty for sure!

CODE NINJA’S APP BUILDERS’ CLUB (Grades 3-5) : 6 WEEKS

Ninjas will learn to build apps in block-based coding and simulate them on their iPads.

Previously, Graham founded Coder Camps, a program which teaches adults to be successful software developers. That experience, coupled with his desire to equip his own two children with tools for a successful future, led to Code Ninjas. FITNESS AND AGILITY (Grades 3-5) : 6 WEEKS

A fun way to get some exercise! A series of different fitness stations, games, and relay races designed to improve strength, coordination, speed, and physical fitness.
About the instructor: Erica Kozminski has a degree in Exercise Science and a background in Sports Performance Training. She has been working in the fitness industry for 7 years, and as owned Innovative Fitness for 3 years. At Innovative Fitness, her goal is to help you reach yours. SPANISH CLUB (Grades K-5) : 6 WEEKS

Spanish Club is an educationally oriented fun and interactive program designed specifically for the elementary student. The unique curriculum features Spanish foundation vocabulary introduced through games, singing and hands-on activities. Students are able to compound words and begin forming simple sentences.

About the Instructor:
Janet Priore serves as the Pittsburgh branch manager for The Enrichment Company. Her experience as a child protection compliance operations administrator for Carnegie Mellon University and corporate trainer for Blue Cross Blue Shield, coupled with her love of the Spanish language, helps make her a great addition to our team. She has offered Spanish tutoring to K-12 and college students since 2011 using multiple teaching techniques and she enjoys creating a fun, positive learning environment for children. Janet and her husband, Ryan, are busy raising three children and live in the Wexford, PA area. Janet holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh.

BWE BASKETBALL HOOP GROUP (Grades 3-5) : 8 WEEKS
PM PROGRAM 3:30p - 4:45p
The Hoop Group will blend of learning basketball while having fun. The primary focus will be fundamental skills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, etc. Kids will work on individual and team skills through drills and will get to display those skills in a number of fun competitions. Each session will have two goals: get better at basketball and have fun!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Eric Schott, a former BWE dad, has been a 9th grade coach at Shaler Area for 19 years. He has also run the Shaler Summer Shootout for 19 years. He has helped to coach NABA travel teams for the past 6 years and has run summer camps for NABA for the past 2 years.
CODE NINJA JR (Grades 1-2) : 6 WEEKS

Kids learn to code through building games and hands on learning. Robotics and snap circuits will also be included.

SING SING SING’S POP CHOIR (Grade 1-5) : 6 WEEKS

A fun and engaging class that involves movement based on musicianship training and vocal training that will culminate in a performance for parents on the final day of class. This class teaches teamwork and builds confidence.

ART IMAGINED JEWELRY 101 (Grades 3-5) : 6 WEEKS

Throughout this 6 week class we will learn basic jewelry assembly; Earrings, bracelets, knot bracelets, metal bending and much more! All materials will be provided; including a HUGE selection of beads and findings to create beautiful one of a kind pieces that will go home at the end of each session.

About the instructor: Heather Rusiski, owner and educator at Art Imagined, is a classically trained Art teacher with a B.A in Art education with a minor in studio arts. Heather provides an educational environment for creativity and mak-ing ART for the creative soul within each individual. Heather teaches a wide variety of art mediums some of these include; watercolor, acrylic, oils, drawing, sculpture and Jewelry making. Art Imagined is a fully func-tional ART Studio in Wexford, Pa that also offers ‘Art on the Cart’ programs for local schools and businesses . In other words, we pack up our supplies and come to you! Before opening Art Imagined Heather was an art teacher at a local private school. As well as teaching private ART lessons from her home. Heather is also a mother of two boys and a practicing artist herself.

CHEMICAL CHAOS (Grades K-2) : 6 WEEKS

Have you ever wanted to perform your own science experiments? Here’s your chance! We’ll explore chemistry and physics in a very hands-on (MESSY!) way. You may have played with slime before, but have you ever seen a flying teabag? Mrs. Joan Batson will teach this exciting science enrichment series. Join us in Chemistry Chaos as we break out the beakers. Classes will include discussion, exploration, science projects and experiments. Don’t miss it!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Mrs. Batson is the owner of Batson Independent Education, Ltd. She worked as a Natural Science Academy teacher at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History for 10 years. She developed and taught programs for Camp Earth, preschool through 8th grade science classes, homeschool classes and enrichment classes for Girl and Boy Scouts on a variety of subjects including Biology, Paleontology, and Anthropology. Mrs. Batson taught for the Challenge Program, the North Hills Catholic Diocese’s gifted program, held at LaRoche College. Mrs. Batson has taught several enrichment programs at PALS, a homeschool cooperative. She has also taught several elementary science enrichment classes from preschool to 5th grade since 2009.
CHESS CLUB (Grades 1-5) : 8 WEEKS

Join local chess teacher Jules Coulson to learn and improve your chess skills! Each club meeting will begin with a lesson on chess openings, strategies. Tactics, endgame concepts, master games and chess history. After the lesson, students will apply the ideas they’ve learned in competition games against each other. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers. All chess supplies provided.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Hi! I’m Jules Coulson, a chess teacher and competitive chess player from Pittsburgh, PA. I first learned chess in elementary school, playing in scholastic tournaments as a kid, and later in life pursued chess in college as a member of the University of Pittsburgh Chess Club. I’ve taught chess for over three years in various schools, summer camps and privately. I’m also a certified tournament director. I enjoy teaching and strive to improve the skills of all students with a holistic approach to chess, emphasizing game analysis, puzzles, practical strategy, chess history and chess-related current events. I also employ the lessons of chess to teach critical thinking skills, discipline and sportsmanship. I view chess club as not only a way to learn but a place build friendships and have fun!

“Coach Dave,” as he is known in the community, brings fun and excitement to all of his sports programs with his continuous energy and upbeat personality.
