FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Will I need to pick up my child from After School Programs?
Yes. Parents must pick up their child from after school programs as transportation home is not provided.
- Will I need to drop off my child for Before School Programs?
Yes. Parents must drop off their child at school prior to the before school program as transportation is not provided. Children may be dropped off no earlier than 7:40am.
- Is Registration done Online?
Yes. Paid BWE PFA members will have the After School Program Registration form available in their MembershipHUB at exactly 12:00pm on the date registration opens. If you are a paid PFA member, you will need to be logged into the website on your computer or smartphone in order to access the registration page. If you have any questions about the online process, please go to our After School Program Registration Instructions. - Can I register from my smartphone?
Yes. Paid BWE PFA members can register from both your smartphone using the MembershipToolkit App or the BWE PFA Website. If you have any questions about the online process, please go to our After School Program Registration Instructions. - Will there be a waitlist?
Yes. If a class is full when registering, you will be able to add your child to a waitlist on the PFA WEBSITE. Classes have been sized based on instructor preference and school guidelines. Your child will remain on the waitlist until another student drops the class, at which point a program coordinator will contact you. Please do not contact instructors or program coordinators for special placement requests.
- Can my child bring a snack?
Yes. Your child may bring a small peanut-free snack and water.
- What happens if my child is disruptive in class?
Your child will be sent to the office and you will be called to pick him or her up early. The instructor will then determine if your child will be allowed to return to the program the following week. No refunds will be given if a child is removed from a program for poor or disruptive behavior. Participation in after school programs is a privilege and behavioral misconduct that is disruptive and unfair to other students will not be tolerated.
- Why do I need to be a PFA member to join?
After school programs are not school sponsored events. They are run by PFA volunteers and your support of the PFA makes after school programs possible.
- What if my child needs to be picked up by someone else?
Please send a note in with your child to school.
- What if I am running late?
Please call the school office at 724-935-5081 and the instructor will be notified. Please do your best to be on time as instructors and school staff will need to stay with your child until you arrive.
- If my child is in morning kindergarten, can he/she attend an ASP?
Yes, you may bring your child to the front office at 3:25 pm and a staff member will ensure that he or she is taken to the appropriate class.
- What if my child is absent or will miss an ASP?
If your child was absent from school, no notification is necessary. If your child attended school that day and is unable to attend the after school program, please send in a note or call the school at 724-935-5081.
- Can my child drop a class?
A child may cancel or switch classes up to 3 days prior to the start of the first class. Once a child is enrolled and the program has started, no refunds will be given. In extenuating circumstances, please reach out to one of the after school program coordinators.
- Why aren’t all classes the same price?
The price of after school programs varies based on the number of weeks the class is offered. Additionally, some classes have a materials fee to cover any needed class supplies.
